DeWitt Weller, 96, formerly of 3181 S. U.S. Rt. 68, Urbana, died Tuesday, November 27, 1984, at 8:23 p.m. in Heartland of Urbana, where he had been a patient for four months.
He was born in Urbana, Ohio, on November 19, 1888, a son of Franklin and Mary (Clingan) Weller.
He was a life-long area resident who had worked for 40 years with the U. S. Postal Department, retiring in 1949.
He was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church and Harmony Lodge No. 8, F. & A. M.
He is survived by his wife, Faye, Urbana; two daughters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Barney, Waynesville and Mrs. Phillip (Catherine) Snyder, Urbana; two step-daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Barbara) Weaver, Dublin and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Stafford, Worthington; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hollingshead Funeral Home, Urbana, where services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. James Heartland, Urbana United Methodist Church, officiating. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Dale Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the Urbana paramedics.
