Ruskin Resident Nearly 70 Years


Mrs. Emma Garlick Dies In University Hospital After A Long Illness


Mrs. Alfred C. Garlick, who had been a resident of the Ruskin community for 70 years, passed away March 29 in the University hospital at Omaha where she had been a patient for six months. She was 87.


Mrs. Garlick, who before her marriage was Emma Laura Virginia Lee, was born at Ottawa, Iowa, Sept. 15, 1869. In November, 1886, she came with her family to Ruskin where, she was married to Alfred Charles Garlick Dec. 29, 1887. Mr. Garlick died in 1932.


Three children were born to the union, Grover Garlick, Monroe, Wash., Otho Garlick, Omaha, and Mrs. Clarence Mickelsen of of Limon, Colo. She is also survived by an elder sister, Mrs. Anna Hall of Stockton, Calif., four grandchildren and seven great grand- children.


She was a member of the Church of Christ at Ruskin and later at Davenport.
