Alfred Charles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. N. Garlick, was born at Northamptonshire, England, February 21, 1863, and died at the Hebron Hospital, August 30, 1932, aged 69 years, 6 months and 9 days. He came to America with his parents in 1868, when five years old. They settled in Ohio where they resided two years when the family moved to Nebraska, in 1870, and settled on a homestead north of where the town of Ruskin now stands.

On December 29, 1887 he was married to Miss Lee Keller. To this union three children were born, namely: Grover G. of Burlington, Colorado; Otho G. of Omaha, Nebraska; and Garnet Ruth Garlick Mickleson of Goodland, Kansas.

Mr. Garlick was baptized, into Christ by Evangelist Clayton Gall on September 14, 1907, and lived in fear of his Master and hope of his coming until his death. He was a patient sufferer for some time before it was known how serious his condition was.

A kind and loving husband and father, a true and trusting friend of many has gone to his reward. There comes a time for all of us, when we must say goodbye. But faith and hope and love and trust, can never, never die. Although the curtain falls at last, is this a cause to grieve? The future's fairer than the past, if only we believe, and trust in God's eternal care—so when the Master calls, let's say that life is still more fair, although the curtain, falls.

Funeral services wave held at the home Thursday afternoon, conducted by B. Frank Lowery of Davenport, Ralph Sullivan of Springfield, Kansas, assisted by Mrs. Mabel Magee, did the singing. The body was laid to rest in the Ruskin Cemetery.

CARD OF THANK

In this way, we wish to thank our many friends for their kindness and sympathy, during the sickness and death of our dear one, for the flowers also, and for the ones that closed their place of business through respect, during the very brief services for him.
