Hazel J. Anderson, 77, formerly of Afton, passed away, Thursday morning, August 26, 2010, at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Monday, August 14, 1933 in Faber, VA a daughter of Hannah Louise Marshall Gibson and the late Everette E. Gibson, Sr.
She was owner and operator of Anderson's Produce, an avid BINGO player and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Anderson, a brother, William "Billy" Gibson, and a sister, Margie Scott.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Wanda Brown and her husband James, Richard Anderson, Jeffery Anderson and his wife Dawn, all of Waynesboro, Diane Kelso and her husband Mike, of Greenwood, VA., grandchildren, Michelle Brown, Forrest Jones III, Tara Jones, Richie Anderson, Travis and Timothy Anderson, Michael Kelso, Jr., and Bryan Kelso, great grandchildren, Patricia, Michael Wayne III, and Rebecca Kelso, and a brother, Everette "Buddy" Gibson, Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Hebron Baptist Church, 66 Tanbark Drive, Afton, VA, with Pastor Todd Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
