He was born August 8, 1940 to Homer and Wilma Bishop.
Having been raised in Cash, AR., he moved to California in 1964 and returned to Arkansas in 2004. He had been batteling cancer for the past two years.
He was survived by his wife of 48 years; Leotha Bishop of the home; a son Don Bishop of Osage, OK; a daughter Peggy Penny of Ash Flat, AR;
four grand-children: Phillip Gambino of Hanford, CA., Marcus McGrew of Ft. Bragg, NC., Heather Chavis of Ash Flat, AR., and Kira Tippins of Avenal, CA.;
two great-grand-children: Natalie Tippin of Avenal, CA, and Annabelle McGrew of Ft. Bragg N.C.;
four brothers: Paul Bishop of Jonesboro, AR., Tom Bishop of Avenal, CA, Homer Jr. Bishop and Jerry Bishop, both of Cash, AR., and many nieces and nephews that looked up to and admired him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services and burial was held at Bishop Cemetery with Br. Wynndel King and Glenn Foster officiating.
