Adeline Chloris McGown Huffstutler

Adeline Chloris Huffstutler, 89, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Aug. 11, 2010, at her residence.

She was born March 24, 1921, in Jackson County, W.Va., a daughter of Charles E. and Esther Lockhart McGown.

Adeline was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and worked for Big Bear Stores in Columbus, Ohio, and in Parkersburg. She was a homemaker and loved to travel. She was a member of the Lubeck Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy K. (Gary) Richmond of Parkersburg and Marilyn S. (Randy) Hawk of Berwick, Pa.; one step-son, Barry Huffstutler of Milton, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Rebekah Bowe of Belpre, Ohio, Gabriel Richmond of Buena Vista, Va., Jared Richmond of Veto, Ohio, Jeremy Hawk of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Christopher Hawk of Nanticoke, Pa.; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Martin Smith; her second husband, Emory Huffstutler; one infant brother; and a sister, Cleo McGown.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Gary Richmond and Pastor Mark Houser officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 to 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
