In her own words:

"I was born in Beverly Ohio in 1956. (dec,) I was born to Thelma Roberts. I have one sister Nancy. When I was very young, my mother knew she couldn't care for us so we were put up for adoption. We were adopted by Martin and Adeline Smith. For years we didn't know much about our bio. family. Then in 1984 a friend of my sister's turned out to be family. she got us in contact with our bio. family. we meet our birthmother in 1984 and our zillions of aunts uncles and cousins. the rest is history- we became close to birth family and keep in touch to this day. our real parents, martin and adeline always supported us with meeting and keeping in touch with our birth family."

And the obituary I am composing for her:

Marilyn Sue Hawk, 59, formerly of Berwick and recently of Mainville passed away on Saturday morning, December 26th, 2015, in the Berwick Retirement Village II.
She was born on December 11th, 1956, in a doctor's office in Beverly, Ohio to the late Thelma Alice (Roberts) & Lunsford Asbury "Ralph" Brewer. She then stayed in an orphanage for the first 3 years of her life along with her sister, Nancy. They were adopted out together to Adeline (McGown) & Martin Smith Jr, allowing her to grow up in Belpre, Ohio, with a loving family life that gave her many fond memories.
She graduated from Belpre High School in 1975 and attended Bob Jones University for 3 years. It was there that she met her surviving ex-husband, Randy Hawk.
She moved to Pennsylvania after marriage and there she stayed to raise her own family. Her career highlights consisted of caring roles as a Nurse's Aid at the Berwick Retirement Village for 10+ years and as a Habilitation Staff member at Hope Enterprises for around 14. Recreationally, she loved playing card & board games, going on trips, and visiting family & friends.
Note that she sought out and was able to locate her biological parents and was able to get to know them before their untimely passings. She was especially taken in by the Roberts family of Ohio, as if she had never left.
Preceding her in death was her mother and father, Adeline & Martin, as well as her biological mother & father, Thelma & Lunsford, and her (Great) Grandmother Alfonzie (Wilson) Lockhart.
Surviving are her children: Jeremy Meléndez Hawk & wife Marlena, Winston Salem NC; Christopher Hawk & wife Kelly, Nanticoke; her sister Nancy (Smith) Richmond & husband Gary, Little Hocking, Ohio; 4 grandchildren Willis, James, David, & Michaela; 2 Nephews; 2 Nieces; 2 Grand Nephews; & 7 Grand Nieces.
Her wishes were to be cremated & scattered. She did not want any services or viewing to be held. She was cremated on December 29th, 2015 via Daniel Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service in Wilkes Barre.

Her biological mother, Thelma Alice Roberts, and father, Ralph Brewer.
