Ernestine Moore, 87 of San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas died Monday, February 11, 2008 at an area hospital. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the 1st United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Nathaniel Hankins officiating.

Burial followed at the Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo.

Ernestine was born on November 26, 1920 in San Angelo to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Madison and Lena Mae Milner Steger.


She was a housewife and was very active in Sunday School as a song leader. She enjoyed many volunter activities including helping the blind; Meals for the elderly; State School and Retired Senior Volunteer. She was passionate about sharing the word of God with others and her 21 years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous and Alanon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael Moore and one brother, Herbert Steger. She is survived by a sister, Ada Weathersby of W. Columbia SC and a brother Dr. N.C. Steger and his wife Ruth, of Amarillo, Texas. two cousins Gloria Kent of Eldorado and Mary Sue Stewart of San Angelo; and her very good friends, the Benes family of San Angelo.
