Funeral service for Ada Steger Weathersby, 76, of West Columbia, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy Sieberhagen. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Weathersby, widow of Ralph Weathersby, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011. Born in San Angelo, TX, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Madison Steger and Lena Mae Milner Steger. She had been an area resident since 1997, was formerly of Columbus, Mississippi, and a member of Kittiwake Baptist Church. She retired from Air Force Civil Service after many years of devoted service in accounting. She was a member of V.F.W. and the Women's Missions Union.

Surviving are her sons, Kenneth Weathersby of Lexington, and Larry Weathersby of Caledonia, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Amy Weathersby, Dr. Michael Weathersby, Ashley Anderson and Taylor Weathersby, along with several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert E. Steger, and a sister, Ernestine Moore.
