The Normangee Star Vol XXIII No. 35 June 27, 1935
Two sad deaths of comparatively young men have occurred the past week, both heads of families. Jim Gilbert was born December 26, 1892. He lived in this section all his life. In 1923, he married Miss Truby Cobb. Five children were born to them, four living. He leaves his wife, four children, three brothers, three sisters, his mother, and many other relatives and friends. He was buried June 19 in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Gilbert was not a member of the church, but was Baptist in belief. Bro. R. N. Davis conducted the services.
