Mrs. Anna May Baker, 83 years old, passed away at the North Beach Nursing Home on June 8 after an illness of 15 years.

Mrs. baker was born August 1, 1877 in Iowa and resided in Iowa and Minnesota for 37 years. She was married to Sherman Baker on Dec. 24, 1899 and they moved to Sawyer County in April of 1915.

Mrs. Baker was a member of the Methodist Church of Exeland.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Lula May Bates of Exeland and Zelena M Veness of Chicago; fours sons, James W., WIllie W., Elvin and Kenneth of Exeland; two brothers, John Shinn of Exeland and Clyde Shinn of Allerton, Iowa. One daughter, Rena Viola Veness, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Exeland on June 11 at 1:30PM with the Rev. Denesmare officiating. Interment was in the Exeland Cemetery. The McElravy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
