Daughter of Edward and Janet Wilson Dodd. One of 6 children. Started out life in Crystal Township and knew German before she really knew English. She was always upset that she couldn't ride a horse like her brothers. She would rather ride Western than side saddle! Her nickname was "Maggie" but she hated it so out of respect for her I have removed it. She graduated in 1899 from Gladbrook High School. She attended Coe College. She began taking piano lessons from a gentleman named J. A. Muirhead who became her husband in 1911. She had 3 children infant daughter (lived one day), Jessie Janet, and George Robertson. She helped her husband write his poetry and music. She spent her last days after a massive stroke in a nursing home in Dysart Iowa. Died of natural causes.
