Jacob J. Rothrock was the youngest of ten known children of Samuel Rothrock (1820-1871) and Catherine Stauffer Rothrock (1824-1901), who married 27 Dec 1845 at Stark County, Ohio.

Jacob first married to Agnes Idella (went by Della) Osterstock (1866-1914) on 17 Jun 1886 in presumably Ohio. Jaob and Della were the parents of six known children, namely:

1. Beulah May Rothrock (1888-1973)
2. Claire Cecil rothrock (1892-1971)
3. Myrtle Irene Rothrock Birkbek (1897-1931)
4. Bethel Grace Rothrock Hall (1901-1989)
5. Earl Karl Rothrock (1903-1989)
6. Catherine Rebecca Rothrock (1909-1966)

After Della died, Jacob remarried to the widow Lulu (went by Lula) Bell (Belle?) Osterstock Saxton (1880-1942). It is not believed they had any children together.
