She was born January 19, 1932 in Ralls County, MO, a daughter of James Faye and Mae Emma (Gregg) Gay.
She was raised and educated in Perry, graduating from Perry High School in 1949. She moved to Sedalia in 1962. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years at Third National Bank, and later worked as a front desk clerk at Best Western. She was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church. She was a member of ABWA. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and country music.
Surviving are two daughters, Tracey L. Weisner, and Terri L. Brown, and her husband, Danny, all of Sedalia; two brothers, Jim Gay, of Perry, and J.D. Gay, of Farber; two sisters, Fran Watts, of Eldon, and Kay Sparks, of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Brandon Weisner, and his wife, Jessie, of Gladstone, and Chelsea Weisner, of Sedalia; three great-grandchildren, Cadence Weisner, Colton Weisner and Quinton Weisner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rose Willis.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Erich Kurz officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Adermann, Robbie Seelan, Jacob White, Peter McMullin, Lucas McMullin and Rusty Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Weisner and the staff at Rest Haven. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends from 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
