She was born on September 9, 1909, in Ralls County to James A. and Lola Littrell Gregg.
She was married to James F. Gay on April 19, 1930, in New London, He died in July 1979.
Survivors include one sone James R. Gay of Perry; two daughters, Raye Lane of Sedalia and Fran Watts of Eldon; seven grandchildren, Leisa Reynolds, Rusty Willis, Debbie Davis, Donna Glasglow, Pam Smith, Tracey Weisner and Terri Lane; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Rosie Willis.
Mrs. Gay was employed at Perry Elementary School as a general assistant for many years. She was also a well-known babysitter.
Mrs. Gay was a member of the Perry Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship at the church. She was a former member of the Perry Rebekah Lodge.
She was an avid baseball fan and an avid crocheter.
