Dancer, Actress. Born in Duluth, Minnesota and educated in San Diego, California she trained as a dancer. She appeared in over 50 films in her career, including H.B. Warner’s ‘The Pagan God’ and ‘For a Woman’s Honor’ in 1919. Her popularity escalated when she was teamed with Douglas Fairbanks in a series of films including ‘The Mark of Zorro’ in 1920, ‘The Three Musketeers’ in 1921, and ‘The Iron Mask’ in 1929. She also starred opposite Lon Chaney in 1922’s ‘The Shadows’. She was married to film star John Bowers and they starred together in ‘Desire’ and ‘Richard the Lion-Hearted’ in 1923. Bowers committed suicide when his prospects faded with the advent of sound movies in 1929. Marguerite made only four talkies herself, retiring from the industry in the early 40s. She died in San Francisco in 1950.
