Sally Ann Brandt Battle Creek Sally Ann Brandt, age 75, died peacefully Monday, May 17, 2010, at her residence. Sally was born on October 22, 1934, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Harold L. and Mildred (Austin) Sharpsteen. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central High School in 1953. She married Larry Brandt who survives. She was employed as a secretary/claims adjuster for Michigan Claim Service. Sally enjoyed life by spending it with good friends and family. She had a passion and love of watching her granddaughters, Schae Lynn, Shai Alexis and Maya Ann as they grew into young ladies. She also enjoyed animals, crosswords and reading Norma Roberts books. Larry and Sally wintered in Florida for 13 years and Sally enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers during Spring training, the Tigers have also lost a loyal fan. Surviving are children, Jeffrey L. Brandt and Scott A. Brandt both of Battle Creek; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Robert Sharpsteen of Battle Creek, Gordon Sharpsteen of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Georgia Engle of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Sharpsteen. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Memorials may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
