Larry C. "Lar" Brandt, age 82, of Battle Creek, died peacefully, Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his residence. Larry was born on October 27, 1931, in Alpena, MI, the son of Lawrence H. and Nellie S. (Watkins) Brandt. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Marshall High School in 1949. He married the former Sally A. Sharpsteen who preceded him in death on May 17, 2010. He had been employed as a pipefitter at Post Cereals for 39 years and was a member of the Post 25 Year Club. To really know Lar was to know what a kind, intelligent, caring and loving man he was. He is loved and honored by his sons, Jeff and Scott. Lar cherished his granddaughters, Schae Lynn, Shai Alexis and Maya Ann, and they him. Lar and Sal opened their home to others, sharing their love and support to those that entered. Lar was an avid sports fan loyal to the Tigers and MSU Spartans. He also enjoyed watching his boys in sports and later on their daughters.

Surviving are children, Jeffrey L. (Brandy Wickham) Brandt and Scott A. (Natasha) Brandt both of Battle Creek; 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Dove.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Memorials may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. www.henryfuneralhome.org
