Mary Alice Hinman Bell, 86, Oroville, Calif., formerly of Holton, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at an Oroville, Calif., care center. She was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Jackson County, the daughter of Ray and Julia Eckert Hinman. Mrs. Bell and her husband lived in Holton until moving to California in 1964. She worked for J.C. Penney's as a bookkeeper until retirement. She married Ralph J. Bell on Feb. 23, 1943, in Holton. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Stanley Bell and wife Pam, Chico, Calif.; two daughters, Delores Bell, Topeka, and Cynthia Kellogg, Oroville, Calif.; three grandchildren, Dawn McGuin and husband Aaron, Oroville, Calif., Jacqi Liddiard and husband Don, Paradise, Calif., and Becki Robins and husband Martin, Rough and Ready, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Kathleen Martin; and a brother, Ray Hinman. Mrs. Bell was cremated. There were no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
