Mrs. George Roquet

Grace May Lamphiear Roquet, youngest child of Elizabeth Maxwell and William J. Lamphiear was born April 14, 1881 near Strawberry Point Iowa and died May 16, 1941 at her home in the northwest part of Arlington at the age of sixty years.

Her early life was spent in the vicinity of Strawberry Point where she became a member of the Christian Church, later transferring her membership to the Arlington church.

On Dec. 29, 1898 she was married to George Roquet and their home was made at Fremont, Iowa. During the year of 1925 the family returned to Arlington where most of the following time was spent.

To the marriage was born ten children: Clyde, Cohasset Minn; Vern, Ada Minn; Donald, Maynard, Iowa; Georgia Pierce, Cohasset Minn; Edna Hall, Arlington; Dollie Peters, Fairbank Iowa, John, Arlington; Waneta Ohl, Robert and Richard Roquet of Waterloo.

She left besides her husband, George Roquet, 25 grandchildren, one sister Clara Robbins of Edgewood, one brother, Washington Lamphiear of Chicago, Illinois and two aunts, Mrs. Matilda McClain and Mrs. Ella Brandenburgh.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church with Rev. Deo Butler officiating, assisted by Rev Edwin Hignett. Pallbearers were her six sons, Clyde, Vern, Donald, Richard, Robert and John Rouqet.

Out of town relatives and friends were Mrs. Charley Robbins, Mr. and Mrs. K. Pardee and Mr and Mrs. Dell Glasier. Edgewood: Mr and Mrs Meron Axtell and Mrs Bond McClain, Strawberry point: Mr Walter Roquet, Mr and Mrs. Ira Roquet and children. Mrs Herschel Proctor, Mr. A.C. Walter and Adella and Mrs. Chester Roquet of Fremont, Iowa; Mrs Charles Robbins of Martanburg, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Buehoner, Mr and Mrs Vern Fuller, Mr and Mrs. J. K.
