Born October 3, 1918 in Hartford, daughter of the late Adelino and Maria (Scarrone) Cavalotti, she grew up in Hartford and graduated from Hartford Public High School.
She was employed at the Arrow-Hart Corporation during WWII manufacturing electrical components for the war effort. After marriage she started her family in West Hartford and Bloomfield, she then settled in Windsor, where she raised and nurtured her family and lived for fifty-four years.
Irma enjoyed baking and raising her family, she was blessed with a wonderful healthy life, a sharp and inquisitive mind right to the very end.
Besides her husband, Anthony, she is survived by her son, Anthony John DeFranzo, Jr. MD of Winston Salem, NC; her daughter, Diane Marie DeFranzo of Windsor; and loving granddog, a chocolate Labrador "Cady".
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Avenue, Poquonock section of Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Poquonock section of Windsor.
Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Her family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home.
