Rachel E. Fryer, 87, of St. Patrick, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the Lewis County Nursing Home, Canton, Mo. She was born April 16, 1907, in Clark County, Mo., to Martin V. and Katherine Schreck Ellison. She married Basil J. Fryer on Sept. 18, 1928, in St. Patrick, Mo. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1973. She was a lifelong resident of Clark County and a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick and the Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include: three sons, Joe Fryer of Canton, Mo., Basil Fryer Jr. of Keokuk and Lowell Henry Fryer, also of Canton; five daughters, Mrs. Joe (Marianna) Gredell of Keokuk, Mrs. Donald (Ilene) Fox of Garden City, Mich., Mrs. Franklin (Mildred) Bishop of Westland, Mich., Mrs. Bill (Catherine) Coney of Hamilton, Ill., and Mrs. James (Nancy) Boatman of Wayland, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Pat (Emma) Riney of St. Patrick and Mrs. Lawrence (Mildred) Clark of Flint, Mich.; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister in infancy and three grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father David Cox officiating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be today at Shaffer Vigen Funeral Home in Kahoka and the family will meet with friends from 7-9 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Shaffer Vigen Funeral Home. A Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick Cemetery Fund.
