Raymond B. "Egan" Bess , age 78 of Rushville, In. passed away on Saturday April 10,2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, In.

Born the son of Raymond and Bulah (Asbridge) Bess on May 4, 1931 in Bonneterre, Missouri. He married Dorothy Wylie on August 26, 1955 and she survives him.

He was in the US Navy aboard the USS Breckenridge during the Korean War. He attended the First Baptist Church of Rushville. He worked at Schnadig Corpration, Perfect Circle and Perkins Furniture Transport. After retirement he worked for Antler Pointe Golf Course in Rushville.

Survivors include:

Wife-- Dorothy Bess of Rushville, In.

Son-- Brian (Holly Schultz) Bess of Rushville, In

Daughter-- Joni (Jay) Grubbs of Carthage, In.

Sister-- Joan Morley of Sequin, Tx.

Grandchildren--Michael and Kylie Turner, Katie and Dennis Byers, Stacy andEric Paille, Andy and Courtney Grubbs, Brandon and Bicca Grubbs, Kelsey Bess, Alexa Bess.

Great Grandchildren--Trust and Rebekah Turner, Jake and Kaden "Ray" Byers, Makenna Grubbs

Preceded in death by his Parents 2 brothers-Norman and Donald Bess,3 Sisters--Dolores, Patsy and Shirleen

Services for Ray Bess will be on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev.Jay Noll officiating and burial will be Arlington East Hill Cemetery. There will be a Veterans service at the cemetery.

Calling will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Todd Funeral Home in Rushville, In.

Although I didn't know Mr. Bess, I went through grade, junior & senior high schools with Brian & knew Joni as well. Many memories of those days...
