He was a farmer and lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He was a 1974 graduate of Rogersville High School.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Frances Parvin and paternal grandparents, E.C. and Gertha Dykes.
He is survived by his wife, Kim W. Dykes of the home; daughter, Amy S. Dykes; parents, Claude and Vergie Parvin Dykes, all of Rogersville; sister, Hope Stewart and husband, Lee, Raleigh, NC; brothers, Victor and Chris Dykes, both of Rogersville; step-daughter, Christie Ward and husband, Ken; step-sons, Gregory Leake and Dustin Collins, all of Rogersville; niece and nephew, Lindsey and Jared Stewart, both of Raleigh, NC.
Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2004 at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Riley Jones officiating.
