Gertrude A. French, 84, of Norway died Monday August 21, 2000 at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.
She was born in Norway on May 4, 1916 the daughter of Lewis and Ada Merrill Pushard.
She attended Norway schools and she married Philip L. French on September 28, 1934. Both of them lived in Norway all their lives.
Mr. French predeceased Mrs. French on August 14, 1974.
Mrs. French worked in the local shoe shops all her life.
She is survived by two sons, Clarence of Norway and Gary of Oxford; two daughters, Jean Mckeen of Albion and Pearl French of South Paris; two sisters, Mary Korhonen of Norway and Frances Pushard of South Paris and a half sister, Ethel LaCourse of Norway.
She was predeceased by her husband Philip; one daughter, Evangeline Little of Norway, one sister, Ellen Louise Whitman, and a half brother, Lyman Herrick Jr.
There will be a graveside service held Wednesday, August 23 at 10 a.m. in the Pike's Hill Cemetery with Rev. Betsy Webber officiating. There are no visiting hours.
