She was called Gayle. Her first marriage was to Frank Fichte, with whom she had 3 children - Holly Mikel, Sandra Nicole and Philip Franklin. They divorced in about 1966 and Gayle, a teacher, moved to Tohachi, NM to teach on a reservation. She married a man named Larry, then an Army officer Col. Laughlin. She and Laughlin divorced for a time, she may have married another man named Gregory, then re-married Laughlin. He died and it is thought she was single for several years, then she moved back to Seymour, Texas when her mother was getting feeble. At that time, she married ?Roger? Porter, but they divorced after a few months (about 1990). Sisters were Nan Sue (lived in NM) and Patty (m. James Kunkel, lived in Olney, TX).

Funeral services for , 74, of Seymour, were held Friday, Jan. 15, at the First United Methodist Church of Seymour with the Rev. Laraine Waughtal officiating. Interment followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Seymour under the direction of Archer Funeral Home of Seymour.
Mrs. Avary died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Hospice of Wichita Falls.
She was a teacher. Survivors include daughters Sandra Jacobs of Olney, Deana Dalton of Seymour and Holly Moss of Megargel; a son, Phil Fichte of Oklahoma; two sisters, Pat Kunkel of Olney and Nan Sue Rogers of New Mexico; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
