Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Mt. Pleasant M. P. Church by the pastor Rev. Glen Nay of Reedy and burial was made in the Sims Cemetery on the home farm, remains in charge of funeral director T. W. Dye.
Deceased was the daughter of Benson and Clarissa Ashley and was born Oct. 12, 1880. She was 53 years, 5 months, 16 days old at the time of her death.
She was married to T. J. Brown July 4, 1895 and to this union were born thirteen children, seven who died in infancy. Her husband and the following children survive: Mrs. Mary Hogue; Herbert Brown and Mrs. Hazel Woodyard of New Cumberland; Ruby, Lawrence, and Charles at home. She is also survived by two sisters; Mrs. Mattie Mayfield of Middlebourne, Mrs. Carrie Anderson of Sistersville; one brother, Will Ashley of Parkersburg; and one half brother, Thomas Barnhouse of New Martinsville.
She gave her heart to God when a child and continued faithful in His service until she was called home. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant M. P. Church.
