Charles E. Brown, 89, of Seventh Avenue, Parkersburg, died Dec. 15, 2005, at his son's residence in Reedy, W.Va.
He was born at Reedy, a son of the late Thomas J. and Margaret Mae Ashley Brown. Mr. Brown retired from Borg Warner - G. E. Plastics and was formerly employed by American Viscose. After his retirement, he worked at the YMCA in maintaining the buildings and premises. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and the FOE 2307. Charlie loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and Korea.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Kay Ferguson of Parkersburg; son and daughter-in-law, Charles G. and Diana Brown of Reedy; three grandchildren, Janet Givens and her husband, Paul, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Robert E. Ferguson and his wife, Tilde, of Martinsburg and Charles M. Brown and his wife, Nancy, of Reedy; nine great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Timothy, Daniel, Stephen, Keisha, Christopher, Jaymie, Tyler and Trenton; one great-great-grandchild, Stephen Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Price Brown in 1999; two brothers, Herbert and Lawrence; and three sisters, Mary, Hazel and Ruby.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Leavitt-Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastors Sharon West and Paul Knierim officiating. Interment will follow at Sims Cemetery at Reedy. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
