Peggy Skidmore Childers was born in Swain County, North Carolina on Apr. 28, 1940 and passed away on Mar. 11, 2010 and resided in Candler, NC.

A native of Swain County, she was a daughter of the late, Olie J. and Lillian Dale Thomas Skidmore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Childers; and several brothers and sisters. Peggy taught a special education class and drove a school bus for Erwin Middle School where she retired in 2003. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Peggy, first and foremost, loved the Lord and her family.
