Lifetime Bristow area resident, Floyd Wayne Joslen was born June 22, 1939 in Welty, Oklahoma to Fred and Esther (Stiles) Joslen. He passed away on January 12, 2010 at his home in Bristow. Floyd graduated from Gypsy Public School in 1956 and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On June 24, 1960 Floyd married the love of his life, Janet Troxel, in Bristow and to this union two children were born. Floyd owned and operated Floyd's Used Cars and Tractor Sales in Bristow. He was a member of the Oak Street Church of God in Bristow. Floyd enjoyed raising cattle, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending quality time with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Janet Joslen of the Bristow home; one son, Jeff Joslen and his wife Terri, of Dewey, Oklahoma; one daughter, Deanna Dobson and her husband, Travis, of Bristow; one twin brother, Loyd Joslen and his wife, Barbara, of Bristow; one sister, Mary Lou Fogle and her husband, Ray, of Bristow; one brother-in-law, Jimmie Williams of Bristow; 10 grandchildren, Jordann, Merrick, Brooke, Meagan, Jessie, Madison, Abbi, Emily, William, and Ally; one great-grandchild, Hurli Sayge; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ruby Neece and Jenitta Williams. Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the First Church of God with Billy Fechner and Jeff Mendenhall officiating. Interment will follow in Bristow City Cemetery.
