Dorothy E. Bain, 89, of Monticello

Dorothy E. Bain, 89, of Monticello died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at Twin Lakes Village Nursing Home.

She was born at Enos on Nov. 20, 1915, to John and Flossie E. (Gundy) Dean. She married Ambrose L. Bain in Chicago in 1935. He died Dec. 7, 1982.

She graduated from Englewood High School.

She retired from Roc-ola Juke Box Company in Chicago.

She was a member of Parr Baptist Church in Parr.

She was a member of the Literary Guild and the Home Economics Society in Rensselaer. She was a volunteer for Rensselaer Care Center.

She enjoyed reading and travel.

Survivors include daughters, Susan K. (Rowald) Patzschke Porter and Linda Bain, both of Monticello; a son, Robert Bain of Camino, Calif.; brother, Robert (Doris) Dean of Colorado; sister, Lorna (Bud) Keevil of Chicago; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

An infant son, Terry Bain; brothers, Dick, Keith and Bill Dean; a sister, Kathryn Phillips; and a grandson are deceased.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be at a later date at Fair Oaks Cemetery in Fair Oaks.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
