Ruth E. Lacy
ESCONDIDO - Ruth E. Lacy, a former Escondido resident of more than 25 years, died June 2 in Springfield, Va. She was 81.

She was born Sept. 7, 1906, north of Carthage, Mo. In 1973, she moved to Springfield, where she was a member of the Messiah Methodist Church and the Federated Women’s Club.

She was a bookkeeper for Lacy’s Palomar Electric, a business she and her husband owned in Escondido. She was the 1957-58 president and charter member of the Escondido Soroptimist Club; a charter member of the Escondido Hidden Valley White Shrine, organized in 1959; and a member of the Escondido chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Barbara Lacy of Springfield; sister, Elizabeth Loyd of Carthage; grandsons, Kim and Keven Lacy and granddaughter, Cathie Lacy.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Park Cemetery in Carthage, Mo., with the Rev. Brenda West officiating. Knell Mortuary in Carthage is handling arrangements.
