Edith Amberson

Edith Vivian Hoff Amberson, 73, of Clearbrook died May 28, 2002 at her home in Clearbrook.
She was born the daughter of Arne and Clara (Mathison) Helgeson. Edith's mother died shortly after her birth, so she and her sister Lilly moved in with their aunt, Inga Kristianson Hoff. They attended school in Leonard.
Edith married William Hagen and they lived in Leonard. They later divorced and she married Henry Hoff. They moved to Shevlin where they raised the rest of their family.
Edith collected porcelain dolls and loved being around her family. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and being a homemaker.
She was a member of the Landstad Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, father of their children and long time friend, Henry Hoff of Bemidji; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Voeller of Helena, Montana; five sons, Robert and Richard Hoff, both of Bemidji, Kevin (Christine) Hoff of Fargo, North Dakota, Jack (Phyllis) Hagen of Quartzite, Arizona, and Jim Hagen of Bemidji; brother, Morris (Irmgard) Helgeson of Clearbrook; two sisters, Janna Peabody of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ruth Eades of Seattle, Washington; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a baby son; three brothers, Allan, Louie and Andrew; and a sister, Lilly.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 1 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leonard with Rev. Dan Bowman officiating. Interment was at the Norway Lake Cemetery in Leonard. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
