Death certificate shows he was the son of Lucius Beach of Conn. and Julia Barrett of Ohio, male, white, married, born June 1, 1845 Michigan, retired Civil War, died August 5, 1920 in St. Louis, Gratiot Co., MI at the age of 75 years 2 months and 4 days, cause of death chronic nephritis. Informant Mrs. Beach and burial was on August 7, 1920 in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Census records show he was the husband of Cora M. Beach and the father of Alton, Fred and Wesley Beach.
