Oldest child of James W. Ascha of White Creek, New York, and Mary E. Ackert Ascha Stone. He married on 3 September 1870 Anna B. Chapman. They were the parents of Hattie E. Ascha Eldridge, Maye Belle Ascha Pease, Ada L. Ascha Lord, Bessie F. Ascha, Anna E. Ascha Rollenhagen, and Charles Robert Ascha.

Charles G. Ascha was a carpenter in the housing industry in Hinsdale. At the time of the 1910 census he was living with his daughter, Ada, and her husband on a farm in Hindsale. He died, age 70, of a valvular heart disorder and arterial sclerosis, and was buried 16 September 1916 in Maple Street Cemetery, Hinsdale.
