Services Today For Mrs. Dora N. Read
Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. today for Mrs. Dora N. Read, 77, who died in Groom hospital Monday.
Mrs. Read, widow of W.O. Read, Panhandle pioneer, had been living with her daughter, Mrs. E.A. Vance of Lefors for the past six months.
She is survived by four sons: F.E. of McAlester, Okla., Charlie T. of Lubbock. Z.L. of Amarillo and J.A. of Amarillo; three daughters, Mrs. Lela Hughes, Newlin, Mrs. J.W. Longshore, Lake View and Mrs. Vance of Lefors. She also leaves three step-children, Mrs. R.M. Clark of Brice, Mrs. Donna Davis of Bridgeport; Mrs. Mary Jane Moore of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Martin of Abilene and Mrs. Lucy Moore of Turlock, Calif. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

A former Hall county resident, Mrs. W.D. [sic] Read, died last Wednesday in a Groom hospital.
Mrs. Read with her family first came to Hall county, to the Newlin community in 1914. They recently had lived near Hedley for several years.
Mrs. Read is survived by four sons: F.E. of McAlester, Okla.; Charles T. of Lubbock; Z.L. of Amarillo and J.A. of Hedley; three daughters: Mrs. Everett Hughes of Newlin, Mrs. E.A. Vance of Lefors, Mrs. J.W. Longshore of Lakeview and three step-daughters, Mrs. R.N. Clark of Brice, Mrs. Bill Davis of Bridgeport and Mrs. Mary Jane Moore of Dallas.
