W. C. Bryan will conduct the last rites for Mrs. A. L. ALLEN, who passed away at her home Tuesday evening following a heart attack. Services will be held sometime Saturday at the Baptist Church. The exact hour has not been set awaiting the arrival of a daughter from Calif.
Mrs. ALLEN has suffered with a heart ailment for several years but had apparently been feeling better the past few months, being up most of the time and able to be out. Her sudden passing was a shock to her loved ones and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. ALLEN moved with their family to Ochiltree County in 1916, coming here from Roberts County, where they had lived nine years. Mrs. ALLEN’s passing removes from the home a devoted wife and mother, whose interests centered about the happiness and comfort of her loved ones.
Jennie Elizabeth HOLLAND was born November 25, 1872 at Union Star, Mo. She grew to womanhood there and was united in marriage to A. L. ALLEN on June 19, 1890. To this union were born four children, three daughters and one son. The son, Audie, died in 1941.
She leaves her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Clem ANDERSON, San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. J. B. CARTWRIGHT and Mrs. Lloyd FURNISH, Perryton; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Bettie BROWN of Delta, Colo.
