Alvarena J. Carter, age 85, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. She was born August 3, 1921 in Ennis, Texas to Wesley Emett and Irene (Feagins) Cooke. She married G. E. "Ty" Carter in October 1944 in Texarkana, Texas.Survivors include one son, Van Carter and his wife, Julia of Ennis, TX; one daughter, Sharon (Carter) Beets of Italy; one sister, Pat Plumble and her husband, Hubert of Plano; one brother, Charles Cooke and his wife, Charlsie of Marshall, TX; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Judith (Carter) Hensley, brother, Owen Cooke and two grandchildren, Michael Van Carter and Brittany Ann Whitfill. Interment will follow at the Myrtle Cemetery.
