OBITUARY: The Marshall News Messenger, Marshall TX, 1 Feb 2012
Marshall — Graveside services for Charles Ray Cooke, 77, of Marshall, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Yates Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Scottsville with Adam and Tony Scott Flynn officiating. Arrangements are by Downs Funeral Home.
Mr. Cooke passed away Sunday, January 30, 2012. Mr. Cooke was born April 11, 1934, in Ennis, Texas, to Wesley and Irene Feagins Cooke.
He worked for FHA as a loan officer for a number of years. Mr. Cooke served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned a farm where he raised cattle and timber.
He married Charlsie Giddens on January 29, 1958.
Mr. Cooke is survived by his wife, Charlsie Cooke of Marshall; daughters, Diane Flynn of Marshall and Peggy and Jeff Plunkett of Livingston; grandchildren, Adam Flynn, Tony Scott Flynn, Lindsay Flynn, Rebecca Plunkett, Ashley Flynn, Ben Plunkett and Rachel Plunkett; and sister, Pat and Hugh Plumlee of Plano. He was preceded in death by his parents.
