An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Saturday, February 17, 2001:

Lera Estes Nolte, of Waco and formerly of Gatesville, died Feb. 12 in a Waco nursing home. She was 89.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville with the Rev. Jim Houser officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Nolte was born Dec. 22, 1911, to the late J.J. and Lucy Ann Carroll Estes. She was a resident of Coryell County until December 1987 when she moved to Waco.
She attended Plainview School. On May 8, 1930, she married Heber Nolte, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1971. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lera Anne, on Jan. 4, 1998.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gatesville.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye N. Lamb and Betty J. Jordan, both of Waco; one sister, Aileen Kreder of Hamilton; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jim Dyson, Carroll Estes, Lynn Simpson, Joe Cox, Randy Krupicka and Stan Morgan.
The family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
