Heber Nolte, 74-year-old Gatesville auto mechanic, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday in the local hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Rev. G. L. Derrick and Rev. Loftus Nunley officiated, and burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Nolte was born in Austin County Dec. 8, 1896, and came to Coryell County with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Nolte, in 1908. They resided west of Gatesville.
He married Miss Lera Estes May 8, 1930, and they lived on Moccasin Bend Road northwest of Gatesville until moving to Gatesville in 1952.
Mr. Nolte was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Faye Nell Lamb of Waco, Miss Lera Ann Nolte of Gatesville and Mrs. Betty Joyce Jordan of Waco; two brothers, Dewey Nolte and J. B. Nolte, both of Gatesville; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Burnes of Logan, Utah, Mrs. Edna Jones of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Lula Belle Welsh of Copperas Cove; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Mr. Nolte's funeral were Arvin Taylor, Jim Dyson, Cecil Fowler, Efton Carroll, Karl Wiegand and Josh Logan.
