James "Jim" Yarborough Daniel came with his mother to Wood County following the Civil War. He was born in Upshur County , Texas on November 11, 1859. His father, John M. Daniel Jr , a native of Tennessee, died in service to the Confederate Army. His mother, Harried Flanagan Daniel was married to Isham Larue when she moved to Wood County. On December 20, 1882, he married Martha E Robbins. They settled in the New Hope Community and raised their ten children. Jim and Martha later move to the Oak Grove Community where they help establish the Ebenezer Baptist Church. They are buried in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
