Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Orin W. Beverly, 79, a lifelong resident of Coryell County. Mrs. Beverly died Friday afternoon in an Austin hospital following a long illness.
Rev. William Lee Hankla conducted the rites at Scott's Funeral Home, and burial was in Restland Cemetery. Pallbearers were V. R. Lee, Ray Brookshire, Gordon Graham, C. W. Marshall, Morris Bell and Dwight Boyer.
Mrs. Beverly was born Miss Sarah Ellen Carroll in Coryell County Jan. 12, 1880, daughter of D. M. and Annette Carroll, pioneer settlers in this area. She and Mr. Beverly were married July 4, 1903, and lived near Copperas Cove until 1942, when their farm and ranch was taken into the Fort Hood reservation. They then moved to Gatesville.
Mr. Beverly died Feb. 22, 1957.
Mrs. Beverly was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are two sons, Carroll Beverly of Gatesville and Roy O. Beverly of San Angelo; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Boyer of San Angelo, Mrs. Lorena Baker of Austin and Mrs. Paul Pressler of Austin; two brothers, Charles P. Carroll of Bakersfield, Calif., and Dennis Carroll of Anthony,N.M.; one sister, Mrs. A. C. Hopson of Hollywood,
Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
