Fatal Accident.
Little Allie Matthes, whose parents live about three miles northwest of town, was shot Wednesday afternoon, by the accidental discharge of a shotgun which dropped from her brother’s hands while he was taking it from its rack. Medical aid was summoned at once, but she died the same evening.

Allie was born in Kansas, probably Crawford Co., as that's where her parents (Carl Albert and Pauline Matthes) were living in the early 1890s, and her brothers Otto and Carl were born there.

(Newspapers from that era are rift with errors: name spelling, dates, etc.)

The cemetery is located on the SW corner So. Lake Road (CR-E0890 Rd.) & CR-N3410 Rd..
Directions: Travel north on SH-18 from Chandler (past the turnpike (I-44)) to So. Lake Road aka CR-E0890, the first section line on left. Turn & travel due west abt. 2-1/2 miles. Cemetery is now cleared, fenced and has a new sign.
Note: First birth date was correct. She was 2 years old when brother Otto shot her with a shotgun. Alma was my Great Grandmother, Lina Mauch's Sister. Newspaper article cited is incorrect. Buried next to her is mother, Pauline.
