Mr. Wallace Gray Apperson, 66, 1909 Shelby Lane, died Sunday at N.C. Baptist Hospital. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Voglar's Main Street Chapel with burial in Salem Cemetery. Mr. Apperson was born in Forsyth County, May 23, 1924 to Luther L. and Susie Elizabeth Moorefield Apperson. He lived all his life here and retired from the Maintenance Department in the Wachovia Building. During World War II, Mr. Apperson served in the European Theater with the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Trudie Mabe Apperson, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Melinda A. Pemberton, Bedford, Ind., Miss Roxann Apperson, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sons, Mr. Mark Gray Apperson, Ft. Lauderdale and Mr. Richard J. Apperson, Winston-Salem; two granddaughters, Allison and Leslie Pemberton; one sister, Mrs. Sue A. Self, 41 Anita Circle and one brother, Mr. L.V. Apperson, LaGrange, N.C. The family willl receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Voglar's Main Street Chapel. (Winston-Salem Journal Aug. 20, 1990)
