James C. Neaves III February 19, 1962 - August 11, 2004 FT. LAUDERDALE, FL - James C. Neaves III, 42, of Fort Lauderdale, formerly of Columbus, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, in Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston, Fla. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, in Parkhill Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Shorey and the Rev. Jimmy Cook will officiate, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road. The family will receive friends this afternoon from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jim was born Feb. 19, 1962 in Columbus, the son of James Clark Neaves Jr., and Ilona Hamilton Neaves. He was a 1980 graduate of Shaw High School and attended Georgia Tech. Jim was a former member of Morningside Baptist Church and was a flight attendant with US Airways for the past 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, G.T. and Dorothy Hamilton, his paternal grandfather, James C. Neaves Sr. Survivors include his parents, J. Clark Neaves Jr., and Ilona Hamilton Neaves of Midland; his brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Bianca Neaves of Midland; a niece, Lauren Neaves of Midland; paternal grandmother, Kathryn C. Reid of Columbus.
