James Clark Neaves Jr, 79, of Columbus, GA died Monday, December 20, 2021 at Saint Francis hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday December 23, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. David Helms officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Burial will take place at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Clark was born March 12, 1942 in Columbus, GA to the late James Clark Neaves and Kathryn Neaves Reid. He held a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Columbus State University. He retired from the National Guard as a Lt Colonel. He retired from AFLAC after 32 years. He was a member and past president of the Columbus Rotary Club. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where he was a choir member and served on the finance committee.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ilona Hamilton Neaves of Midland GA, children; Brent Neaves (Bianca) of Hamilton, Ga, sisters Rachel Butts, Ruth Dansby, Patsy Mason, grandchildren, Logan Dollar(Vianca), Lauren Neaves, great-grandchildren, Kash Dollar. He is preceded in death by his sister Becky Forsyth and his son James Clark Neaves III.
