He was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Martin Luther Lutehran Church on Oct. 2, 1921 and later confirmed on Nov. 22, 1936. has been a lifetime member of that church.
He received his education in Pleasantview District #61 rural school near his farm home. he joined the Army Air Force on August 5, 1942 and was discharged on Aug. 20, 1943.
He married Aug.23, 1945 to Gladys May Volker at St. James Lutheran Church, rural Humboldt, Nemaha, NE.
Three children were born to this union.
Mr. and Mrs. Schneider farmed south of Johnson,NE.
He died at his home in Johnson, NE. having reached the age of 80 years, three months and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mervin, two sisters, Neva Eitzmann and Nora Meints. two nephews, Eldon Eitzmann and Loren Meints and one niece, Marilyn Meints.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Gladys, three children, Imogene Matejka and husbaned Richard, Allen Schneider and his wife Jan. and Dennis Schneider and his wife Carol. eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 9, 2002 at the Martin Luther Lutheran Curch. Burial was in the church cemetery.
