Carl W. "Bill" Smith, 69, of Mt.Zion, died 3:17 Thursday, June 10, 1999, in Barnes hospital in St. Louis.
Mr. Smith was born in Hillsboro on June 10, 1930, the son of Carl and Charlotte Kelly Smith. He retired in 1986 from Caterpillar after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran and member of VFW. He married Donna M. Boyd on May 29, 1954.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Jerry R. Smith and wife, Christine and Kevin W. Smith and wife, Kim, all of Mt. Zion; four grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Services in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial in Mt.Zion cemetery with military rites conducted by Dalton City American Legion, Post 475.
