Mrs. Mary Adaline Knowles Emerick, 69 of Patterson, passed away Wednesday morning (October 21, 2009) at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Pierce County, Mrs. Emerick had lived here all of her life. She was a housewife and enjoyed cooking & collecting angels as well as working in her flower garden at home. Mrs. Emerick loved spending time with her children & grandchildren. She was a member of Offerman Baptist Church and will be remembered as a precious & gracious mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Dennis & Myrt Davis Knowles; a daughter, Jaunita Miller; two grandchildren, David Tom Dennison & Dusty Rhodes; a sister, Ruby Crawford; and all five of her brothers, Vernon Knowles, Bill Knowles, Jake Knowles, Woodrow Knowles and Jesse Knowles.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Dennison of Jesup; two sons, David Rhodes (wife Debbie) of Patterson and Daniel Rhodes (wife Grace Ann) of Odum; two sisters, Thelma Dybaski (husband Ed) of Jacksonville, Fla. and Louise Perkins of La Belle, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 o'clock Thursday evening (October 22, 2009) at the funeral home.
Service:
Funeral services for Mrs. Emerick will be held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon (October 23, 2009) at Offerman Baptist Church.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the New Home Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
